C.A.T. Box Wars 101 with Dr. Robin Moore, DVM

End the Battle of the Box. Before It Breaks Your Bond!

Watch Dr. Robin Moore’s REAL Talk: “C.A.T. Box Wars 101:
Navigating the Complexities of Litter Box Issues”

Is your cat peeing outside the litter box, and you’re at your wit’s end?

You’re not alone, and your cat isn’t acting out of spite.

Hi, I’m Dr. Robin and in my short, heart-felt REAL Talk, I share my personal journey through one of the most common cat behavior issues – and often a very misunderstood one.

I hope this message spreads far and wide, and together, we can keep cats in their homes.

Introducing the C.A.T. Framework

Litter box issues are one of the most frustrating (and misunderstood) problems cat parents face. They’re stressful. They’re messy. And they can feel like a betrayal of the bond you have with your cat.

Your cat isn’t mad at you, or trying to be difficult. They are trying to tell you something is wrong. This is where C.A.T. comes in:

  • C is for Clean and Count. Make sure your boxes are clean enough and plentiful enough. (One box per cat plus one is more than a myth—it’s a must.)
  • A is for Attention. Learn how to observe your cat’s behavior in and around the box—and how subtle changes in routine, litter type, or box placement may be to blame.
  • T is for Territory, Transparency, and Team. Understand how space, stress, and the layout of your home affect your cat’s sense of security, and why that matters more than you think. Plus, be honest with your veterinarian – they are your support team. We desire for your cat to stop going outside of the box as much as you do.

Work Towards Litter Box Happiness: The C.A.T. Box Home Audit

I created The C.A.T. Box Home Audit – a free home audit survey that helps you take actions around your home – so you can reclaim peace and strengthen the bond with your cat again.

It’s a simple, vet-approved survey that helps you to “see” your home setup and litter box practices from your cat’s perspective. It will make you consider:

  • Do you REALLY have enough litter boxes?
  • Is your litter box setup the best setup it can be – for both  you and your cat?
  • How often are accidents occurring and where?
  • Plus, many more questions to help uncover the possible issues your cat experiences with their litter box in your home.

Why Is a Home Audit Important?

  • Helps you identify problems before they escalate to rehoming or surrender
  • Makes conversations with your veterinary team more productive
  • Rebuilds the trust between you and your cat
  • Helps you take action today, with compassion and confidence
  • Restores peace in your home and trust with your cat

Meet Me: Dr. Robin Moore, DVM

Dr. Robin Moore with an orange tabby cat at her vet practice

Veterinarian. Cat mom. Advocate for the human-animal bond.

With nearly 30 years of veterinary experience, I’ve seen thousands of cases of inappropriate elimination—and I’ve lived through it myself. What I thought was just a frustrating phase between two of my own cats turned into an emotional wake-up call that helped me see how complex, painful, and isolating this issue can be.

I created the C.A.T. acronym and The C.A.T. Box Home Audit to offer the kind of clarity and compassion I wish every cat parent had access to, because giving up is not your only option.

Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, heartbroken, or just plain tired of cleaning up, I’m here to help you move forward with empathy, understanding, and real-world advice.

You don’t have to go through this alone. And you don’t have to lose your cat to find peace. I’m in your corner and here to help.
