Robin Moore – your other family doctor

Hello and welcome to Pets N’ Moore. I’m Dr. Robin, the heart behind the screen.
I can’t remember a time in my life when I didn’t feel connected to animals. Even before my mom volunteered me to help our local veterinarian when I was 15, I knew that caring for animals was my purpose.
I have always surrounded myself with critters that needed my help. From the chaos of a tending to a hundred classroom mice (long story) to the calm of watching a dolphin swim, animals have always grounded me – and lifted my heart.
After earning my DVM from LSU School of Veterinary Medicine, I moved to Largo, Florida, and joined East Bay Animal Hospital. Following a short sabbatical where I worked with marine wildlife, I became the owner of the practice in 2008 – and I’ve loved every moment of the journey. I’ve helped multiple generations of families and cared for thousands of pets across three decades – from cats and dogs to birds, reptiles, and small animals like ferrets. It means the world to me to be considered the other family doctor by my patients and their parents.
And as much as I love animals, and I really do, being a veterinarian for nearly 30 years has taught me something even deeper: behind every pet I treat is a person who loves them.
Over the years, it’s the bond with those people that’s come to mean just as much to me.
That’s because the relationship between a veterinarian and a pet parent isn’t just clinical, it’s personal. Whether you’re holding your breath through a diagnosis or just wondering if that weird bump is normal, I want you to feel seen, heard, and never judged for caring so much.
Have you ever had one of those moments in life when something seemingly insignificant happened but it changed everything?
For me it was several months into the pandemic, my vet tech told me that a lifelong client was outside and he appeared to be in declining health. I found myself overcome with emotion, when in that moment, I realized just how long it had been since I’d connected with the people behind my patients. While I treated their pets inside, they waited in cars. No smiles. No conversations. No birthdays shared. I missed reassuring them. I missed being present. And I could not let that disconnection continue. It lit a fire in me to always create connection in any way that I could, especially through sharing compassionate, easy-to-understand pet care advice.
That is when I really understood the reason PetsN’Moore was birthed in my heart. Here is where I can share insights, stories, and guidance from a career filled with love, laughter, tough decisions, miraculous turnarounds, and even a baby sperm whale (yes, I’ve treated sea turtles, dolphins, and even stingrays, but that’s a story for another day). Whether in my clinic or here on Pets N’ Moore, I offer real talk, practical advice, and encouragement when things feel overwhelming.
My goal? To help you feel confident, calm, and like you’ve got a trusted friend in your corner. Because you do.
If you’re looking for veterinary advice rooted in compassion, and a deep respect for both science and the soul of the animal-human bond… you’re in the right place. Welcome to Pets N’ Moore. I’m so glad you’re here.
